ORLANDO

Friendly White Swan in downtown Orlando

Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went to the mountain to pray. While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white. And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem. Peter and his companions had been overcome by sleep, but becoming fully awake, they saw his glory and the men men standing with him. As they were about to part from him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." But he did not know what he was saying. While he was still speaking, a cloud came and cast a shadow over them, and they became frightened when they entered the cloud. Then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is my chosen Son; listen to him." After the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. They fell silent and did not at that time tell anyone what they had seen.

Well this city really lived up to my expectations and exceeded them in most ways. I've encountered many people in this city who live by faith in God and who have shared theirs with me in words and actions. The Orlando Magic is the name of the NBA franchise here and after all, this city is the home to Disney world. What a great place to dream big and hope for the best. I've felt a stronger connection with higher powers than my own imagination in Orlando. I don't know if it's from the power of the prayers of others or what, but it's good to be surrounded by good Karma.

City planners have developed a variety of bicycle and foot friendly trails throughout the city that have made Orlando the most bike friendly city I've experienced. A few of the more popular urban trails are the Cady Trail, Orange Blossom Trail, Wikiva Trail and Florida Trail. Although many trails are still being developed; I understand that a goal of the city is to complete a concentric ring of trail and to link it to other bike trails in central Florida.

The weather's been great here! I've been informed by locals that this is the best time of year to be in Florida. Hurricane season begins in June and continues thru November. I understand that the air is thicker, hotter and more humid during those months.
